Donald K. Tisdale, Sr.
Experience
Don served as the Forsyth County District Attorney from 1974–1986, where he helped to establish North Carolina’s Victim Assistance Network. In the last 20 years in private practice, Don has developed an outstanding reputation as a top criminal defense attorney. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts and has been involved in numerous capital murder trials as a prosecutor and defense attorney.
Education and professional associations
Don received his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1968 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin and History from Wake Forest College in 1965. He was admitted to practice law in North Carolina in 1968 and has been certified to practice in the U.S. District Court, Western, Eastern, and Middle Districts of North Carolina; U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Don currently serves as an adjunct professor for the Wake Forest University School of Law Clinic Program. He is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the Forsyth County Bar Association, and the Forsyth County Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers Association.
