Search of home in North Carolina leads to drug charges for 1

When individuals file complaints indicating the possible presence of drug activity nearby, an investigation in the matter may ensue. If police claim to uncover illegal narcotics during a search of the home, those who reside within may face criminal accusations. An individual has recently been arrested and accused of drug crimes after authorities allegedly uncovered a substantial amount of marijuana at a home in North Carolina.

Police initiated a search of the home in question around noon on a recent Friday, which allegedly uncovered the presence of almost 100 marijuana plants. The say the plants were almost ready for harvest, and that additional strains were also located during the search, along with numerous firearms. An individual was taken into custody shortly after the search and is now facing felony drug trafficking charges.

Several of the person's neighbors claim that the odor of marijuana emanated from the residence on a regular basis. However, no other information was given as to what might have led authorities to initiate the search. Felony drug charges have serious consequences, and those convicted of similar crimes face lengthy prison terms, in addition to a substantial amount in fines.

When accused of felony drug charges, an individual may find it advisable to seek assistance from someone with experience in handling such intricate matters. By speaking with a defense attorney, a client in North Carolina could obtain advice on making informed decisions throughout the process. An attorney can advise a client on forming a strong defense, and if a conviction cannot be avoided, assist in pursuing a lesser sentence during court proceedings.
