A woman in North Carolina is facing drug charges after she allegedly attempted to send heroin to a man in a local detention center.
According to authorities, the incident began when officials performed an inspection on several parcels that were intended for an inmate at the facility. During this process, authorities claim that the packages were found to be holding an unspecified amount of heroin. Law enforcement agents initiated an investigation into the matter, and assert that one individual was responsible for sending all the packages.
After locating the woman who was allegedly responsible for mailing the drugs, police executed a search warrant at her place of residence. During the search, they allegedly found various types and amounts of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia, including heroin and marijuana. She was arrested shortly thereafter and faces felony drug charges, and is being held on bond while awaiting legal proceedings.
